A win for the center-right Civic Democrats, who won nine seats, two more that the cetre-left Social Democrats. The Communists won four seats and the Christian Democrats two but far-right fringe groups failed to pass the threshold to gain seats.

The social democratic Smer party of Robert Fico, the Prime Minister, won a convincing victory with 32% of the vote, even though turnout was low. The opposition centre-right faction SDKU came second awioth almost 17% of the vote.
